The Deanston 18 Year Old Bourbon Finish is an annual batch release and is sweet and spicy with notes of barley sugar, gingerbread and a dry, warming finish.
Originally laid down in second fill casks, this 18 year old was finished in first fill Bourbon from Kentucky, before being returned to the heart of our vaulted warehouse at Deanston Distillery. With meter thick stone walls and roof, this unique warehouse ensures a steady temperature that provides year round, smooth and even maturation. The result? The Deanston signature profile, of sweet, honeyed fruit with a deep rich finish, has been amplified to reach perfection – a Deanston 18 Year Old that is the very best that nature, knowledge and patience can provide.
Tasting Notes for Deanston 18 Year Old Bourbon Finish 46.3%
Colour – Lemon gold.
Nose – Quite aromatic, with balanced American oak notes. Floral, malty, grassy, vanilla and honey with hints of tobacco and nutmeg.
Palate – Sweet and spicy, citrus, barley sugar, gingerbread, Manuka honey and white pepper flavours.
Finish – Dry and spicy with a warming gingery honeyed tail.

We source only the finest Scottish Barley, close in proximity to our distillery, in partnership with local farmers. It’s not the norm to only use Scottish barley, but it’s important to us. We use traditional, hands-on methods and fermentation that takes far longer, because it’s the right thing to do, transforming the grain into the waxy, soft, smooth highland single malt we’re known for.
