A 15 year old from the Mortlach distillery, aged in first fill and refill sherry casks before bottling for Gordon and MacPhail.
Nose: Hot cereal with honey, fresh barley notes, some savoury/earthy notes, mixed nuts, apple crumble, toffee apple muffins.
Palate: Buttery fruit cake mix, toffee apple, honey nut cereal, mince pies, sherry soaked sultana, spiced grape and subtle meaty mouthfeel.
Finish: Ginger cake, buttery malt loaf, sherry soaked dried fruit, golden syrup, honey baked ham, aromatic wood spice.
A meaty mouthfull of a more savoury and nutty style from one of the real gems of Speyside with well balanced fruit, oak and spice.
