On the nose neat we were preparing ‘the perfect apple crumble!’ with dark brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla extract and desiccated coconut. On the palate like Oma’s (grandmother’s) famous German sweet Semolina pudding (Griessbrei) served with dots of butter and sprinkled with plenty of cinnamon and sugar – the delight of every child. With a drop of water like an old-school perfume, – bergamot, tuberose, jasmine, rose and lily of the valley – rich, sultry and so seductive and to taste just like those hugs and kisses that never seem to run out from the best grandma in the world.
