We found the nose sweet, attractive and relaxing “ like meeting an old friend; lemon puff biscuits, honeyed oak, varnished pine, orange blossom, juicy peaches and Granny Smiths. The palate provided lemon sponge cake, clover honey, dried figs and raspberry Ruffle bar – that dark chocolate bitterness being augmented on the finish by some tannic oak. The reduced nose was clean, bright and invigorating – fruit cocktail, orange Mivvi, sherbet fountains and ‘lemon lip balm kisses in a flower meadow. The reduced palate had seductive sweetness (marzipan, plum jam) with restrained spiced orange and dark chocolate gently reverberating on the finish.
