About Highland Park Whisky

Owned by the Edrington Group and located in the Highlands Region on the island of Orkney; Highland Park is the furthest north of the Scottish whisky distilleries. The brand has a long history and architecturally, the buildings of the distillery are reminiscent of a village that might be featured in a 19th century period drama. Visitors really enjoy following the brick built footpaths that meander through the site. About a quarter of the malting process is carried out at the distillery, the malted barley being initially dried using peat (followed by coke) resulting in a recognisable smoky finish. The remaining malted barley is sourced externally and is unpeated. Production goes back to the 18th century and enjoys exceptional customer loyalty. So much so, in 2020 over two million bottles were sold worldwide. Highland Park is hugely respected for is commitment to quality and traditional production methods. It comes as no surprise that it was named ‘’The Best Spirit in the World’’ on three occasions by a leading American expert on distilled spirits.

The range is extensive offering 10 year old Viking Scars, 12 year old Viking Honour, the new 15 year old Viking Heart, 18 year old Viking Pride as well as 21, 25, 30 and 40 year olds. There is also the Cask Strength and Dragon Legend. The distilleries special releases are extremely collectable with a growing demand.
