A North Highland release by Thompson Brothers for their ’Tesco Value’ inspired range of blended malts using Northern Highland whiskies. This great quality 8 year old dram is a combination of Clynelish, Glen Ord and a small amount of heavily peated Dalmore. Bottled at a smooth 44.9% abv, un chill-filtered with natural colour.

Nose: Peaches and cream and some coastal wet rocks. Some kiwi and white pepper. “Halfway between petrol and marzipan” says Josh(??). Certainly some Riesling coming through. Putty. 

Palate: Very gentle texture on the palate, menacingly soft. A real thirst-quencher. Mandarin-esque citrusy note with soft jelly baby pillows of icing sugar and gelatine. Lots of minerality coming through. 

Finish: Honeydew melon, waxy peaches, candle wax and slate.
