The Arran 25 Year Old is a mentous release from Arran. Using some of their oldest stock matured in ex-Sherry and ex-bourbon casks, they have re-casked this whisky into first-fill and refill Sherry hogsheads for the final year of maturation. The result is an complex, vibrant dram which marks a quarter century of whisky making.

Official Tasting Notes for Arran 25 Year Old
Nose – Rich oak with a gentle nutmeg note. Sweeter aromas of baked ripe figs, sultanas and black cherries.
Palate – Fruit cake with toasted almonds and cinnamon. The juicy zestiness of oranges and mandarins mellows perfectly with manuka honey, muscovado sugar, baked apricots and an interesting white pepper note that provides even more complexity.
Finish – Creamy and spicy with dark chocolate, walnuts and dark fruits compote.
Distillery Profile
Production began at the first distillery in beautiful Lochranza almost 25 years ago. Many other locations were considered at the time, but the proximity to Loch na Davie provided us with a rather special source of fresh water for distilling. We knew this would hold us in good stead in the years to come. The second distillery opened in the south of the island in 2019 at Lagg, where we make a very unique style of peated single malt.
