This rare Benromach 39 year old was was bottled by Gordon & MacPhail for the prestigious Private Collection range. First fill Burgundy cask #3024413 was filled on the 30th of November 1982 and was lovingly matured for 39 long years before being bottled on the 5th of October 2022. One of only 207 bottles released.

Benromach is a traditional Speyside distillery that was established in 1898. The distillery has had numerous owners over time plus two periods where it was mothballed completely. It was purchased in 1993 by Gordon & McPhail the famous maturation and bottling specialists. Production started in 1998 and the first whisky was released in 2004 called ‘Benromach Traditional’. The owners ambition was to bring back the lost taste of Speyside whisky before commercial malting’s started. Back then distilleries malted barley using peat for the fires which gave the barley a hint of smoke

Aroma
Seville orange peel complements smooth stewed apples and toffee. Fragrant vanilla notes infuse with soft milk chocolate and mature oak.
Taste
Sweet summer berry flavours give way to subtle black pepper and a hint of fresh mint. Citrus fruit combines with faint herbal influences and a touch of aniseed.
Finish
A full finish with lingering sweet brown sugar and black cherry.
