A delicious 2012 vintage Benromach. The third batch in the 2012 Cask Strength series. First-fill cask matured in a combination of both ex-bourbon and ex-sherry for 10 years before being bottled at a natural cask strength of 59.6%. Full bodied with plenty of stewed fruit and spice notes.

Benromach is a traditional Speyside distillery that was established in 1898. The distillery has had numerous owners over time plus two periods where it was mothballed completely. It was purchased in 1993 by Gordon & McPhail the famous maturation and bottling specialists. Production started in 1998 and the first whisky was released in 2004 called ‘Benromach Traditional’. The owners ambition was to bring back the lost taste of Speyside whisky before commercial malting’s started. Back then distilleries malted barley using peat for the fires which gave the barley a hint of smoke
