Bowmore have done it again with another outstanding collaboration between the distillery and Aston Martin. The sublime 22 year old released for the Masters Selection is the fine result of a great partnership between master blender Ron Welsh and Aston Martin chief creative officer Marek Reichman. Both were inspired by the common values of heritage and innovation that the two brands share. The Bowmore Aston Martin 22 year old is a blend of whisky matured in American oak ex-bourbon hogsheads and European oak ex-sherry butts and finished in Tawny Port casks. The resulting taste captures both harmony and contrast that promises both intrigue and complexity. A truly incredible collectable whisky.

A renowned and ancient distillery located on the beautiful island of Islay. Sited in the town of Bowmore, the distillery is the oldest licensed whisky producer on Islay dating back to 1779. The well know Japanese whisky company Suntory now own Bowmore who bought a small stake back in the 1980’s from Morrison Bowmore Distillers Ltd. All the whisky produced is handcrafted using traditional methods honouring techniques of years gone by. In 2020 data released show Bowmore to be the second largest seller of single malt on Islay after Laphroaig. Bowmore boasts a large variety of whiskies available. The core range is made up of 12, 15, 18 and 25 year old age statements and there has been a reappearance of the limited 30 and 40 year old releases. Recent years have seen the launching of a new range for travel retail plus a series of great special bottlings

Official Tasting Notes
Nose: Sweet and fruity notes of heather honey, vanilla, cherries and lychees, with a floral character and a hint of eucalyptus. Oak spices, liquorice and fresh tobacco leaves with a touch of aniseed and mint.
Palate: Malty spice notes of vanilla fudge, golden syrup and butterscotch, with thyme and white pepper, woody notes of dry oak, hazelnut, Demerara sugar, maple syrup, and dates.
Finish: Sweet and woody with notes of liquorice sticks deliver a spicy mouthfeel and a touch of peat smoke.
