The Macallan Exceptional Casks series was relaunched in 2017. The range takes its name from a number of single cask bottlings Macallan released during the 1990s, which are often described as some of "the greatest Macallan of them all."
Distilled on the 28th February 2007 and bottled over 12 years later after maturing in single American oak bourbon barrel #3112 (Ref: 2019/ABL-3112/05).
Selected by Macallan Whisky Maker Polly Logan, it was reserved for the 2019 batch of releases, on 21st January that year.
Tasting Notes
NOSEA delicate combination of tropical pineapple and coconut with a floral and sweet aged oak edge.
TASTEGently flowing through cinnamon, vanilla, a light burst of citrus then to warming ginger and into a biscuit sweetness with hints of milk chocolate and orange.
FINISHLong with floral orange and a delicate sweetness.
