Chivas Brothers Distillery Reserve Collection is an exceptional range of single malts that are rare, limited edition and all bottled at natural cask strength. The picturesque Strathisla distillery is home to distinctively shaped copper stills that give the spirit its lovely rich, full-bodied and fruity style. This Single Cask Edition Strathisla 16 year old was distilled on the 28th of May 2003 and matured in a 2nd fill barrel before being bottled on the 30th of May 2019. The release is one of only 312 bottles.

Official Tasting Notes

The picturesque Strathisla distillery is located in the Speyside region in the town of Keith in Banffshire. Strathisla is the earliest working distillery in the Scottish Highlands with a history reaching back to the 1700s. It is owned by Chivas Brothers (Pernod Ricard) who made the purchase in 1950 and a great deal of restoration was carried out. The name Strathisla was first used in 1870. It was given up in 1890 but Chivas Brothers re-adopted it following their acquisition of the distillery.

Strathisla is considered to be the backbone and a crucial malt in the popular Chivas Regal blend. The official Strathisla single malt whisky bottling is the 12 year old plus 2019 saw the release of the Distillery Reserve Collection. Independent bottlers Gordon & MacPhail have used Strathisla new make spirit for their own maturations for many years. In their ‘Distillery Labels’ range Strathisla is a well know key release.
