Springbank's much loved 12 year old cask strength release. Typically a combination of bourbon and sherry casks (the May 2021 batch is 50:50), this is a perfect opportunity to get familiar with Springbank's style in its most natural form.
Official Tasting Notes
Nose : From the outset, this dram incorporates some of the signature Springbankcharacteristics with earthy and maritime aromas. Hints of cracked black pepper and afruity fragrance of dried pineapple develop over time.
Palate : Oily and creamy. Sweet flavours are balanced by the salty elements of thewhisky; vanilla, fudge and caramel with a sprinkling of finely crushed sea salt. Thereare notes of milk chocolate and sweet honeycomb.
Finish : Gentle peat smoke endures alongside the distinct maritime influence. Freshly baked salted pretzels, warm vanilla custard and a tang of orange zest.
