What sets Balvenie apart, despite its deeply traditional roots, is its willingness to experiment. They cultivate their own barley, operate a malting floor, and even have their team of coopers and coppersmiths. Inspired by a visit to Islay, Ian Millar, Balvenie’s Distillery Manager, introduced ‘The Week of Peat,’ an annual tradition involving Speyside peat for kilning before their equipment maintenance. The Balvenie 17 Year Old The Week of Peat boasts flavors of butterscotch, honey, florals, citrus, and vanilla sweetness at a robust 49.4% ABV, with no chill filtration. This whisky offers a delightful blend of sweetness and creaminess, complemented by an enticing hint of peat smoke on the nose.

An early and traditional distillery in the Speyside region; Balvenie has built its fantastic reputation on double maturation using ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks.
For 20 years now the distillery has remained in the top ten list of single malts for volume of sales. The distillery boasts an extensive core range enhanced by intriguing, limited releases.
