A superb Ben Nevis whisky released by independent bottler Woodrow’s of Edinburgh. Matured initially in refill hogshead then transferred for finishing for over a year in a 1st fill Palo Cortado Quarter Cask and bottled at 53% abv. This is a quality dram with great character from it’s time in ex-Palo Cortado cask. Enjoy!

Official Tasting Notes

Nose: Varnished oak and a hint of brine, complimented with pineapple and zest. 

Palate: Oily and mouth coating, dried mango and fruitcake with an earthiness and leather.

Finish: Medium length of cloves, candied ginger and dark cherry. 

In 1825 ‘Long’ John McDonald founded the distillery in the foothills of the famous Ben Nevis mountain in the Highlands of Scotland. In 1989 the distillery was sold to the renowned Japanese whisky company Nikka who use much of the single malt for their own blends. The distillery’s 10 year old single malt was recently given a fresh design plus a none age statement has been added the portfolio.
