Raasay Dùn Cana Oloroso and PX Cask Release 52%

Raasay is the first distillery to be built on the beautiful Hebridean Isle of Raasay. Owners R & B Distillers took the opportunity to buy Borodale House and set to work constructing the distillery around the house. It is well worth a visit for the views alone with a stunning outlook towards mountains on the neighbouring Isle of Skye. The signature whisky is very distinct in style using both unpeated and peated spirit. The same three different cask types are used to matured the unpeated and peated spirit separately. After maturing in these casks the whisky is then married together to create a lightly peated dram with real complexity. The distillery produces, matures and bottles all its whisky on the island plus some of the barley is grown there too. The first release of the signature whisky was available in June 2021 and a subsequent batch came out just four months later.
