Mannochmore is a Speyside distillery south of the town of Elgin in the County of Moray. It is a relatively new distillery founded in 1971 by Distillers Company Ltd and is sited close to Glenlossie. These two distilleries share the same source of water from the Bardon Burn a tributary of the river Spey. Nearly all the whisky produced at the distillery is for blending. Mannochmore is the key malt for Haig a well know brand of Scottish whisky. The distillery has a large capacity of 6 million litres and runs seven days a week producing a fruity style new make spirit. The distillery was closed for a period in the 1980’s. Then a short while after re-opening the first official bottling was released named the ‘Flora & Fauna’ 12 year old. Mannochmore single malt is popular with The Scotch Malt Whisky Society {SMWS} who have bottled many single casks throughout the years.
