An intriguing Enigma Irish whiskey release from independent bottler Cadenhead’s.
This bottling from an un-disclosed distillery was fully matured in ex-bourbon barrels for 10 years before being filled at 44.3% abv. Aromas of mango, papaya and coconut are complemented by cream soda, tangy, plums and vanilla oak on the palate. The finish offers notes of dried banana, sourdough bread, almonds, hay and hints of molasses.

Wm Cadenhead & Co is Scotlands oldest independent bottler and was established back in 1842. The company remained in family ownership until the 1970’s when it was sold to J & A Mitchell & Co Ltd. Cadenhead’s has a shop in Campbelltown, west Scotland plus stores now in Edinburgh, London and Europe bringing their total to nine. This independent bottler is a well respected household name in the whisky industry. The current owners have done a great job in expanding whilst maintaining the original aims and traditional ethos of the business. Cadenshead’s bottle their single malts when they are drinking at their best. There is a highly experienced team working hard to judge the right moment to release these whiskies to market. The attitude is to focus not on quantity but quality of the malts bottled.There are a wide variety of bottling’s released when ready. The Authentic Collection; which are cask strength, single cask whiskies. Other ranges of note are Closed Distilleries, World Whiskies and Small Batch. Plus there's also great blended Scotch and a gin release too.
