Glenfiddich is a well-know distillery in the Speyside region owned by William Grant & Sons. Located in Dufftown where there is a high density of distilleries, Glenfiddich was founded back in 1886.
In 2016 a grand expansion was planned for the distillery which has now come to fruition. To any visitors, it is immediately apparent that a great deal of expertise and expense has been invested in the architecture and interior design of the new still house. This still house number 3 contains sixteen new stills, of which six are wash and ten are spirit. Plus the twelve old stills from the original site have been moved to another section of still house number 3. There is an eye-catching ornamental copper pagoda style roof and a wonderful contemporary entrance leading to a breath taking interior. The distilleries production capacity is now a huge 21 million litres.
The iconic Glenfiddich whisky brand is extremely popular and renowned globally. In recent years it has been reported be the best selling single malt worldwide. The core range is extensive offering the 12, 15, 18, 21, 30, 40 and 50 years old. Plus there are so many new and interesting releases coming out of the distillery. The most recent in 2022 was the cider finished Glenfiddich Orchard Experiment.
