Glen Ord Whisky

Glen Ord is Highland distillery located north, west of Inverness in the village of  Muir of Ord. It was founded as early as 1838 by Thomas Mackenzie. Glen Ord is now owned by Diageo and is one of three distilleries that make up The Singleton brand along with Dufftown and Glendullan. The distillery is popular with tourists and has recently undergone a transformation being enlarged and revamped. There is a great visitors centre thats well worth a trip. It is the only site in Europe you can come across the entire core range of Singleton of Glen Ord.

There’s a large capacity for this distillery which houses six stills in the original still house and eight more in the newly constructed building on site.   

The owners use the vast majority of whisky produced for Asian markets. The core range consists of the Singleton of Glen Ord 12, 15 and 18 year old which have a pleasing easy drinking style. There have been numerous recent limited releases including a 38 and 39 year old of great quality.
