About Tomintoul Whisky
Tomintoul is located in the scenic Glenlivet estate in the Speyside region. It is named after the village of Tomintoul close by. The distillery was founded in 1965 by Tomintoul Distillery Ltd when the whisky industry was enjoying a period of growth. Many new distilleries were appearing in Scotland at the time. Tomintoul became part of the White & Mackay portfolio and its whisky was a crucial component in the Whyte & Mackay blend. Then in 2000 Angus Dundee Distillers took the helm taking the focus away from using the whisky for blending. There is now a large core range of Tomintoul single malt including a 10,14,16,18,21 and 25 year old plus various no age statements. The Tomintoul ‘Cigar Malt’ is a multi award winning single malt recently scooping Best Scotch Speyside Small Batch Single Malt at the World Whiskies Awards 2022. Tomintoul also produce peated, heavily peated {under the Old Ballantruan name} and limited edition whisky.
