Bowmore 21 Year Old One Way Or Another Fresh Bourbon Barrel #13 51.3%
We had two casks of 2004 Bowmore but we didn’t want to vat them together so we are offering 2 single cask bottlings – casks #13 and #14. Distilled on the 26th of August 2004 (where were you then eh?), this was bottled at 21 years old, 3 weeks shy of it’s 22nd birthday. These two casks are remarkably similar having been distilled on the same day and matured in refill ex-Jim Beam wood. Interestingly, #13 is marked as “Clermont Spings Distillery Co 2011” as opposed to the #14 which is labelled at “Jim Beam”. This hints that #13 might have been in circulation longer than the other as Clemont Springs is a historical name for Jim Beam which is no longer used the same way. It also indicates a re-racking or vatting prior to Uncharted’s custody of these casks.

For our customers in the USA we take care of everything. All the duties and tariffs are included in our shipping fee starting at just £46.95.

Nose Mango, You know when you’ve been mangoed. Tropical fruit juice, unctuous and thick. The peat soft, gentle and coastal without any hint medicine at all.
Palate Oh my god….When it hits the mouth the texture is thick! Tropical fruits abound. Yes it is salty but the peat element has been smoothed round by time. Oak is present without overpowering or being too dry. This is fabulous.
Finish The tropical fruit hangs around for ages- it’s the first thing to arrive and the last to go. The peat, salt, oak and spice all jostle for position in the middle. What a dram.
A renowned and ancient distillery located on the beautiful island of Islay. Sited in the town of Bowmore, the distillery is the oldest licensed whisky producer on Islay dating back to 1779. The well know Japanese whisky company Suntory now own Bowmore who bought a small stake back in the 1980’s from Morrison Bowmore Distillers Ltd. All the whisky produced is handcrafted using traditional methods honouring techniques of years gone by. In 2020 data released show Bowmore to be the second largest seller of single malt on Islay after Laphroaig. Bowmore boasts a large variety of whiskies available. The core range is made up of 12, 15, 18 and 25 year old age statements and there has been a reappearance of the limited 30 and 40 year old releases. Recent years have seen the launching of a new range for travel retail plus a series of great special bottlings.
