Aberfeldy 26 Year Old Whisky Exceptional Cask Oloroso Sherry #19 55.1%

Nose: The nose opens with a variety of red fruits such as cherry, pomegranate molasses and blood orange before progressing into dried figs, acacia honey and nutmeg before finishing on menthol and hardwood resin.

Palate: The palate builds on these notes, bringing in more cherry, whipped cream, dark chocolate and sponge cake, reminding me of a Black Forest gateau.

Finish: The finish is long, warming and spiced, with further notes of coffee, cinnamon and a return of that menthol freshness from the nose, which lingers pleasantly. It's a gorgeous dram that balances freshness and richness with an elegant harmony, showcasing the refinement and maturity only a well-aged single malt can deliver.

The Aberfeldy distillery was planned by the Dewar family in 1896 in beautiful Highland Perthshire just outside Aberfeldy. This distillery is famed for it's production of quality blended whisky and now produces extremely popular single malts with a distinct honeyed-richness.
