The Ardbeg Black Committee Release was released in celebration of 20 years of the Committee. This delicious single malt has been crafted from Islay spirit that has rested solely in the finest ex- pinot noir casks from New Zealand. The resulting whisky is brimming with summer fruit pudding and bitter cherry notes with underlying deeper flavours of soot and smoke. A truly unique limited edition whisky with a great black sheep illustration on the label.

Official Tasting Notes

Nose: Baked summer fruit pudding, Cedar wood/cigar box, smoky jam tarts, oak tannins, truffles. With water an intense ‘bitter cherry’ scent, a curious salty/savoury note, and then some lovely, perfumed violet notes.

Palate: A velvety/mouth furring texture leads into delicious symphony of contrasting flavours — savory & sweet and the same time. Aniseed & soot, summer fruits (cherries, strawberry's, apricots and pears), pastry/cake mix, dark chocolate, coffee and more bitter cherries and almond.

This Islay distillery renowned for it’s peaty whiskies was initially documented way back in 1794. In recent years it’s expressions have won esteemed awards like World’s Best Single Malt and World Whisky of the Year to name just a few. The distillery brought out its peatiest whisky to date in 2009 named Supernova.
