Official Tasting Notes

Bladnoch in Dumfries & Galloway is Scotlands most southerly distillery. This Lowland distillery dates back to 1817 when it was founded by Thomas and John McClelland licensing it in 1825. For over 90 years Bladnoch remained under family ownership until Dunville & Co an Irish company took the helm. Over the years Blandoch was owned by numerous companies and more recently Diageo sold the distillery to Raymond Armstrong in the agreement it was not to be used for producing whisky. However this was to change after Armstrong and the local community partitioned for distillation to recommence. The distillery was liquidated in 2014. In 2015 David Prior, a successful Australian businessman with a passion for whisky took over Bladnoch. Using traditional production methods, the master distiller explores ways Lowlands malts were produced back in the 1880's. Stocks of 40 year old whisky are used to enhance the diversity of their great range.
