Official Tasting Notes
Hazelburn is one of the three individual style single malts made at the Springbank distillery in the Campbeltown region. Springbank is the oldest, traditional family run distillery in Scotland and was founded in 1828. Hazelburn whisky is triple distilled and is unpeated with a delicate, creamy style. Triple distillation in Scotland is quite rare giving the range a distinct presence in the market. Hazelburn was first produced in 1997 and was released as an 8 year old in 2005.
The whisky is named after one of the lost distilleries in the region. This distillery became the largest in the heart of Campbeltown dating back to 1825 and operated for up to a hundred years. In the range there’s the 10 year old introduced in 2014 and the 12 year introduced in 2009. There are also exciting yearly limited releases. A 21 year old was released in the summer of 2022, the oldest Hazelburn expression.
